Baked Anarsa Recipe
To prepare Anarsa, take 1 cup of rice flour in a bowl, add 2.5 tbsp of ghee, and mix well. Add 1/2 cup of crushed jaggery, 1 tbsp of sesame seeds to the flour, and mix everything well.
Add 4 tbsp of milk gradually to the flour and knead a soft dough. Make sure the atta doesn't have jaggery chunks. Cover and rest the dough for 30 minutes.
Meanwhile, we will prepare the stuffing for Anarsa balls. Mix 2 tbsp of mawa in 1 tbsp of grated jaggery. Add 2-coarsely crushed cardamom to the mixture and mix well. The filling mixture is ready to prepare Anarsa balls.
After 30 minutes, knead the dough again and take out a small piece of dough. Roll the dough piece into a ball and press it to give it a shallow ball shape.
Take a small portion of the filling and roll it into a ball. Place the stuffing in the center of the dough and close the dough by collecting the ends.
Roll the prepared Anarsa between your palms and give it a round shape. Take 2 tbsp of sesame on a plate, roll the prepared Anarsa over the sesame seeds and wrap it well.
Alternative: You can use poppy seeds instead of sesame seeds.
We will prepare a few more Anarsa balls in the same manner. Assemble all the prepared balls on the baking tray.
Now we will prepare flat Anarsa. Roll a piece of dough into a ball, wrap it with sesame seeds, and press to give it a biscuit-like shape. This way, prepare the remaining Anarsa similarly.
Preheat the oven to 200° centigrade for 6 minutes. Place the tray in the oven after 6 minutes and bake the Anarsa at 200°centigrade for 15 minutes.
After 15 minutes, you will see nice golden brown Anarsa baked and ready. Let the Anarsa cool first, only after that transfer them to another plate.
Baked Anarsas are ready to be served. They are nicely golden brown and look delicious too. Store Anarsa in any container and enjoy them for 15-20 days.
