Urad Dal Ladoo Recipe

Urad Dal Ladoo can be prepared in 3 ways. Each method has its own unique taste. Urad Dal Ladoo are not only tastes good, but is also a healthy snack.
I am preparing Urad Dal Ladoo from all the three methods, you can choose to easiest one.

- Urad Dal Ladoo made from roasted Urad Dal - Sunnundalu Recipe
Ingredients for Sunnundalu
- Urad Dal - 400 gms. (2 cup)
- Boora (Tagar) - 300-350 gms. (11/2 cup)
- Desi Ghee - 150 gms. (3/4 cup)
- Cashews - 2 table spoon.
- Raisins - 2 table spoon.
- Pistachios - 1 table spoon.
- Small Cardamom - 7-8
Method - How to make Sunnundalu
Clean the Urad Dal and Roast it in a pan till it turns Brown.
Grind the roasted Dal in a mixer. Sieve the grinded Dal so that all the thick particles are left behind and you get a finely grounded Urad Dal Flour.
Take out Urad Dal Flours in a plate and add Ghee, Boora, Cashews, Raisins, Pistachios, and Cardamom to it. Mix all ingredients well. The mixture to make Ladoos is ready.
Take a small portion of mixture in your hands and press it with both hands to give it a desired shape (small round balls is the most preferable shape). Do the same with the whole mixture and your Urad Dal Ladoos are ready.
- Urad Dal Ladoos made from Urad Dal Flour (Mogra) - Urad Dal Mogra Laddu Recipe
Ingredients for Urad Dal Mogra Laddu
- Urad Dal Flour - 400 gms.
- Ghee - 200 gms.
- Boora - 300-350 gms.
- Cashews, Raisins, Almonds - 100 gms.
- Pistachios - 1 table spoon.
- Cardamom - 10
Method - How to make Urad Dal Mogra Ladoo
Heat 100 gms Ghee in a pan and roast the Urad Dal Flour. Keep on adding the left over Ghee in small portions while stirring the Flour. Roast the Flour, till it gets Brown in colour.
Cut Cashews, Almonds, Pistachios, and Raisins into small pieces.
Add Boora, Mewa, and Cardamom in the roasted Urad Dal Flour and mix them well. The mixture to make Ladoos is ready.
Take small portions of mixture in your hands and press it with both hands to give it a desired shape (small round balls is the most preferable shape). Do the same with the whole mixture and your Urad Dal Ladoos are ready.
- Urad Dal Ladoos made from soaked Urad Dal
Ingredients for Urad Dal Laddu
- Urad Dal - 400 gms.
- Ghee - 400 gms.
- Boora - 300-350 gms.
- Cashews, Raisins, Almonds - 100 gms.
- Pistachios - 1 table spoon.
- Cardamom - 10
Method - How to make Urad Dal Laddu
Wash and clean the Urad Dal and soak it for 3-4 hours in drinking water. Strain the excess water and grind the Dal.
Heat Ghee in a pan and roast the Urad Dal by stirring it continuously. Keep on adding the left over Ghee with each stir till the Dal gets Brown in colour.
Cut Cashews, Almonds, Pistachios, and Raisins into small pieces.
Add Boora, Mewa, and Cardamom in the roasted Urad Dal Flour and mix them well. The mixture to make Ladoos is ready.
Take small portions of mixture in your hands and press it with both hands to give it a desired shape (small round balls is the most preferable shape). Do the same with the whole mixture and your Urad Dal Ladoos are ready.
Urad Dal Ladoos are ready. You can store them in an air-tight container and can be used for over a month.
