Method - Coconut Pak Recipe:
We will prepare Coconut Pak in two ways - one with Mawa and another without Mawa. First, we will prepare Coconut Pak with Mawa.
Mawa Coconut Pak Recipe
To prepare Mawa Coconut Pak, take 1-dry coconut. Peel the coconut's brown and hardcover. Once done, grate the coconut in a fine grater. Next, we will roast the grated coconut.
Add the grated coconut to the pan and roast over medium flame while stirring continuously. Do not roast the coconut too much. Briefly roast until it is fragrant enough. The process will hardly take 3 minutes.
After 3 minutes, take the coconut out on a plate. Add ¼ cup of poppy seeds to the pan. Coconut and poppy seeds are the best combinations when preparing Coconut Pak. If poppy seeds are not available, you can skip them.
Roast the poppy seeds for 2 minutes over medium heat. After that, grease a tray with a little ghee. Take 1-nutmeg and finely grate half nutmeg.
Add 1 tsp of ghee in the pan and allow it to melt. Add 1 cup (200 grams) of Mawa in the pan after crumbling. Roast the Mawa while stirring continuously. Keep the flame low-medium.
Within 3-4 minutes, ghee will start to separate from Mawa. Then, add 1 cup of sugar powder. Mix well and cook for 1-2 minutes until the sugar dissolves in the Mawa.
When there is a boil in the mixture, add coconut, poppy seeds, grated nutmeg, and ½ tsp of cardamom powder. Nutmeg and cardamom powder enhances the taste and fragrance of the Pak.
Cook the mixture while stirring continuously for 1-2 minutes until it gets thicker. Keep the flame low-medium.
Once the mixture attains the curdling consistency, turn off the flame. Pour the mixture in the greased tray and spread evenly. Leave the mixture for 2 hours to get set.
After 2 hours, cut the Pak into pieces as you please. Heat the plate for 10 seconds and take out the pieces on another plate.
Sugar Coconut Pak Recipe
Take 1-dry coconut. Without peeling the cover, finely grate it. Next, roast the coconut over medium flame while stirring continuously. Roast it for 2-3 mins until the coconut is fragrant enough.
After 3 mins, take the coconut out on a plate. Add ¼ cup of Poppy seeds in the pan. Roast the poppy seeds for 2 minutes over medium heat.
Now, we will prepare the sugar syrup. For that, add 1 cup and less than ½ cup of sugar in a kadhai. Next, add ½ cup of water. Water should be ⅓ of the sugar. Boil the water until the sugar dissolves completely.
Meanwhile, grease a thali with a little ghee. Once the sugar dissolves completely, turn the flame low. Add coconut and poppy seeds in the syrup and mix well.
Add 1 tsp of coarsely crushed white pepper, ½ tsp of nutmeg, ½ tsp of cardamom powder, and mix well. Once the mixture gets thick, turn off the flame.
Stir the mixture for a few minutes and pour it in the greased thali. Spread the mixture evenly in the thali. Leave it for 5 minutes.
After 5 minutes, cut the mixture into desired size without separating. Allow the mixture to cool down completely before you take out the Pak.
Once it cools down completely, heat the plate for 10 seconds. This way, it will become easy to separate the Pak from the thali. Separate the Pak pieces and serve.
Both the Coconut Paks are ready to be served. Store the Mawa Coconut Pak in the refrigerator & have it for 10-12 days. As for Sugar Mawa Pak, you can keep it for 15 days without refrigerating and 1-month with refrigeration.
So, prepare these tasty and easy Coconut Pak recipes and enjoy them with your family and loved ones.
