Ingredients for roasted poha namkeen
- Poha – 3 cups (200 grams)
- Peanuts – 1 cup (150 grams)
- Dry coconut – 60 to 70 grams (thinly sliced)
- Oil – 2 to 3 tbsp
- Green chilly – 2 (finely chopped)
- Turmeric powder – ½ tsp
- Salt – 1 tsp or to taste
- Curry leaves – 10 to 12
- Sugar powder – 2 tsp
- Raisins – 2 tbsp
How to make roasted poha namkeen
First, start with roasting poha. Take poha in a wok and stir constantly until you see slight change in color and crispy. Within 4 to 5 minutes the poha gets crispy. Transfer the roasted poha in a separate bowl.
Take 2 to 3 tbsp oil in a wok and let it heat a little. When the oil is hot, add peanuts into it and stir constantly until you see slight change in color and crispy. Take out the roasted peanuts in a separate bowl as well.
Now add coconut to the same wok and saute until there is little change and then transfer it in the same bowl as well.
Add finely chopped green chilies and curry leaves in the rest of the oil and saute for a while. Also add turmeric powder, raisins and continue to saute. Then add poha, coconut, peanuts, salt and powdered sugar in the roasted spices and mix everything really well. Keep the flame low and keep stirring for 2 minutes. Roasted poha namkeen is now ready, turn off the flame.
Transfer the poha namkeen in a bowl and let it cool down completely. After this, store it in an air tight container and relish eating for up to 2 to 3 months.
Suggestions:
You can also add roasted chana dal, roasted cashews or almonds in the namkeen as per your taste and desire.
