Stuffed Capsicum Bonda Recipe

Bonda i.e. Vada Pakora, they are very much liked in breakfast. They are also very easy to make and they are made with many stuffings. So today we are going to make Capsicum Masala Bonda. These are very different types of bondas, with this method, very crunchy and different taste bondas will be prepared. You can also make them for breakfast or as a snack for guests.
Ingredients for Capsicum Bonda
For Batter
Chickpea Flour - 1 cup (120 grams)
Salt - ¼ tsp
Red Chilli Powder - ½ tsp
Turmeric Powder - ¼ tsp
Coriander Powder - ½ tsp
Carom Seeds - ½ tsp
Baking Soda - ⅛ tsp
For Stuffing
Capsicum - 2
Oil - 2 tbsp
Chickpea Flour - 2 tbsp
Green Chilli - 2, finely chopped
Ginger - 1 tsp, grated
Cumin Seeds - 1 tsp
Coriander Powder - 1 tsp
Turmeric Powder - ¼ tsp
Potato - 5, mashed
Salt - ¾ tsp
Red Chilli Powder - 1 tsp
Dry Mango Powder - ½ tsp
Garam Masala - ¼ tsp
Coriander Leaves - 1-2 tbsp, chopped
Oil for Frying
Process of making batter
Put 1 cup of gram flour in a bowl and mix it with some water and end its lumps. After finishing the lumps, make a batter for pakoras. Once the batter is ready, add ¼ tsp of salt, ½ tsp of red chilli, ¼ tsp of turmeric powder, ½ tsp of coriander powder and ½ tsp of carom seeds (crush and put it in). Now mix them well, the batter for bonda will be ready. Leave it to set for 10-15 minutes.
Process of making stuffing
Separate the front and back side of 2 medium sized capsicum. Now cut 1-1 cm thick rings, cut as many as you can. Then finely chop the part which was separated from the front and back.
Now put 2 tbsp of oil in the pan and heat it on low flame. When hot, add 2 tbsp of gram flour, 2 finely chopped green chillies and 1 tsp of grated ginger. Roast the gram flour and spices a little, fry it until a good smell comes from the gram flour.
After the gram flour is roasted, add 1 tsp of cumin powder, 1 tsp of coriander powder and ¼ tsp of turmeric powder and fry it lightly. After frying them for half a minute, add finely chopped capsicum and fry till cooked. After roasting, mash 5 boiled potatoes, add ¾ tsp of salt, 1 tsp of red chilli powder, ½ tsp of amchur powder and ¼ tsp of garam masala.
Fry them after mixing all the ingredients, as well as press and break the potatoes. After mixing the spices and potatoes well, add 1-2 tbsp of green coriander and mix it, the stuffing for the bonda will be ready. Take it out and cool it.
Process of filling Shimla Mirch Rings
Fill a ring of capsicum with stuffing and fill it by pressing it. Keep it well filled with ring stuffing from both the sides. Prepare the rest of the rings by filling them in the same way.
Process of frying Bonda
Heat oil in a pan, oil should be medium-high hot. Meanwhile, as the batter has become thick, add some water to it and prepare it for pakoras. Then add ⅛ tsp of baking soda to it and mix it well. When the oil is hot, put a capsicum ring in the batter and coat it well. Then put it in the pan, now put as many as you can in the pan at a time.
When they come up after roasting, turn them over and cook them till they become a nice golden brown. When roasted well, take them out and make the rest in the same way, the masala bonda of capsicum will be ready. Serve them hot with any chutney of your choice and enjoy their taste.
Suggestions
The batter should neither be made too thick nor too thin.
The rings of capsicum have to be filled by pressing them well.
The rings have to be dipped in the batter and coated well.
The oil should be hot enough for frying the bonda.
