Steamed Veg Momos in Manchurian Gravy

There are all fans of momos, they are of many types and we like them in every way.  Today we are going to make Veg Manchurian Momos out of these few methods.  This is a very special recipe from Delhi and you will not be able to forget its taste after eating it.  It is also very easy to make, so make it and enjoy this delicious momo manchurian.

 

Ingredients for Manchurian Momos

 

For Dough

 

Refined Flour - 1 cup (125 grams)

Oil - 1 tsp

Salt - ¼ tsp

 

For Stuffing

 

Oil - 1 tbsp

Green Chilli - 1, finely chopped

Ginger - 1 tsp, grated

Cabbage - 2 cups, grated

Green Capsicum - ¼ cup, finely chopped

Carrot - ¼ cup, grated

Salt - a little more than ½ tsp

Black Pepper - ⅓ tsp, crushed

 

For Manchurian Sauce

 

Oil - 1 tbsp

Green Chilli - 1, finely chopped

Ginger - 1 tsp, grated

Cabbage - 2 tbsp, grated

Green Capsicum - 2 tbsp, finely chopped

Red Capsicum - 2 tbsp, finely chopped

Soya Sauce - 2 tsp

Red Chilli Sauce - 1 tsp

Tomato Sauce - 2 tbsp

Vinegar - 1 tsp

Salt - a little less than ½ tsp

Corn flour - 1 tbsp

 

Process of making dough

 

In a bowl add 1 cup (125 grams) of all purpose flour, ¼ tsp of salt and 1 tsp of oil and mix.  Now add water little by little and knead a soft dough.  Knead the dough neither too soft nor too hard.  After kneading, cover it and keep it to set for half an hour.

 

Process of making stuffing

 

Put 1 tbsp of oil in a pan and heat it.  In hot oil, add 1 finely chopped green chili and 1 tsp of grated ginger and fry lightly.  When roasted, add 2 cups of grated cabbage, ¼ cup of finely chopped green capsicum, ¼ cup of grated carrot, a little more than ½ tsp of salt and ⅓ tsp of crushed black pepper.  Now mix them and fry them lightly.  Stuffing for momos will be ready, take it out and cool it.

 

Process of Filling Momos

 

Mash the dough a little and break it into small balls and keep them covered.  Now make a peda by making a round ball.  Roll it thin by wrapping it in dry flour.  After rolling it, lift it and keep it on hand, then keep stuffing in it.  Now put the stuffing in the middle and make the corner plates and close it by sticking them.  Filling momos will be ready, similarly fill all momos.

 

Process of making Momos

 

Fill a large vessel with water and cover it and bring it to a boil.  Now put some oil on a sieve (which comes well on that vessel) and grease it.  Keep momos on it at a distance, as many as you can.  When the water comes to a boil, cover the sieve on a vessel and steam it on medium-high flame for 10 minutes.  When the time is up, take out the momos and make the rest in the same way.  In this way momos will be ready.

 

Process of making Manchurian Sauce

 

Put 1 tbsp of oil in a pan and heat it.  Put 1 tsp of grated ginger and 1 finely chopped green chili in hot oil and fry it lightly.  When roasted, add 2 tbsp of finely chopped cabbage, 2 tbsp of chopped green capsicum and 2 tbsp of chopped red capsicum.  Fry them lightly on high flame, then add 2 tsp of soy sauce, 1 tsp of red chilli sauce, 2 tbsp of tomato sauce and 1 tsp of vinegar.  Now mix them, then add water in 1 tbsp of corn flour in a bowl and make a solution by removing the lumps.

 

Put this solution in a pan, add some water and a little less than ½ tsp of salt and cook it till it becomes thick.  When it thickens, if you feel it to be a little too thick, then add a little more water to it.  After cooking well, add momos to it, reducing the flame to low and mix it well, so that there is a good coating of sauce on momos.  Then cover it and cook for 2 minutes, Manchurian momos will be ready.  Serve them and enjoy their taste.

 

Suggestions

 

The dough has to be kept a little soft for momos.  Neither too soft nor too hard.
