Process of making dough

Wash and soak ½ cup of sama rice and keep it for half an hour.  After the time is up, take out the water in the mixer jar and add the rice and 1 tbsp of water.  Now grind them finely.  Pour this batter into the pan, then pour some water in the jar and pour the rest of the batter into it as well.  Now add ¾ tsp of rock salt and ¼ tsp of crushed black pepper to it.  Cook it on low flame while stirring continuously till it comes in dough form.

Remember that you have to keep stirring it continuously because lumps form in it very quickly.  When it becomes slightly thick, add 1 tsp of fasting oil to it and cook it while stirring it again.  Dough will be ready, turn off the flame and keep it covered for 5 minutes.

Process of making Fara

When the time is up, take out the dough in the bowl.  Then add 2 finely chopped green chillies, ½ tsp of ginger paste, ½ cup of finely chopped carrots and 2 tbsp of green coriander.  Mix it well with a spoon, then after it cools down, take some oil on your hand and make it like a dough.

Now apply some oil on the hand, then take some dough and roll it.  It has to be rolled lengthwise, roll it and keep it on a plate.  Make the rest in the same way, in this way the fara will be ready.

Process of making Chutney

Put 1 cup of green coriander, 3 green chilies, ½ inch of ginger, 1 tomato, ¾ tsp of rock salt and ¼ tsp of crushed black pepper in the mixer jar.  Now grind them finely and take them out in a bowl.  In this way fasting chutney will be ready.

Process of steaming Fara

Put 2-2.5 cups of water in the pan and heat it till it comes to a boil.  Meanwhile, grease a sieve, which comes on top of this pan, with the oil of fasting.  Now put the fara on it.  When the water comes to a boil, keep the sieve on the pan, cover it and let it steam on medium flame for 15 minutes.  After the time is up, take out the sieve and keep them to cool down.  In this way the fara will be steamed and ready.

Process of frying Fara

Put 1 tsp of oil in a pan and heat it.  Put 2 tsp of sesame seeds and 2 green chilies (cut it lengthwise) in hot oil and fry them lightly.  Now put fara in it and cook it on medium flame till it becomes slightly crunchy from all sides.  When they get light brown, take them out.  In this way, the crispy fasting faras will be ready.  Serve them with green coriander chutney and enjoy their taste.
