Moong sprouts pancakes are rich with proteins and minerals. It provides energy and heat to the body in the winters.
Ingredients for Moong Sprouts Pancake
- Moong Sprouts - 1.5 cups
- Spinach - 1 cup (finely chopped)
- Chickpea Flour - 0.5 cup
- Oil - 2 to 3 tbsp
- Asafoetida - ½ pinch
- Carom Seeds - ¼ tsp
- Red Chilli Powder - ¼ tsp
- Coriander Powder - ½ tsp
- Green chilli - 2 (finely chopped)
- Ginger - ½ inch (grated)
- Salt - more than ½ tsp
How to make Moong Sprouts Pancake
Take 1.5 cups of Moong sprout in a bowl and add it in the grinder jar to grind. Add some water to it and grind it coarsely ground.
For the batter
Take ½ cup of chickpea flour in a bowl and add some water in the intervals to make its smoother batter. Stir and blend both the ingredients well. The batter for pancakes is ready.
Add 1 cup of finely chopped spinach to it and stir it well in the batter. Add 1/2 pinch of Asafoetida, 1/4 teaspoon of carom seeds after crushing to it. Add 1/4 teaspoon of red chilli powder, 2 finely chopped deseed green chillies to it. Add 1/2 inch of grated ginger julienne, 1/2 teaspoon of coriander powder, more than 1/2 teaspoon of salt to it and mix them well.
Preheat the pan to cook pancakes. Spread some oil over it to grease it and preheat it. Spread the batter on it using a spatula. You can prepare the pancake according to your desired size.
Cook it while covering for 2-3 minutes on the medium flame. Spread some oil around its corners. After 3 minutes, remove it from the pan because it has cooked. Prepare all the pancakes likewise. It takes 5 to 6 minutes to cook a pancake. The moong sprout Cheela/pancake is ready to be served.
You can serve it with green coriander dip, tomato sauce or with any desired dip and 6 pancakes can be made out of the prepared batter.
If the paste appears thicker in consistency then, add some more water to it.
You can add veggies like bottle gourd, grated cabbage, carrot or anything according to your taste. You can add grated potatoes or onion.
You can increase or decrease the quantity of red chilli powder.
You can grind ginger and green chilli along with sprouts.
