Besan Toast | Crispy Besan Toast Recipe

The besan toast is a dish which is very easy to prepare and can be consumed as snacks also.
Ingredients for the Besan Toast
- Bread- 4 slices
- Chickpea flour- 1 cup
- Green capsicum- 1 (finely chopped)
- Tomatoes- 1 (finely chopped)
- Green coriander- 2-3 tbsp (finely chopped)
- Baking soda- 1 pinch
- Oil- 2-3 tbsp
- Green chillies- 2 (finely chopped)
- Red chilli powder- ¼ tsp
- Turmeric powder- ¼ tsp
- Coriander powder- 1 Tsp
- Salt- ¾ tsp
How to make Besan Toast
Take the chickpea flour in a bowl, add curd and water in it. Bind them well without creating lumps in it. Do not make the paste thicker or thinner. The paste should be extremely smooth and beat the flour properly for 2-3 minutes. To prepare this paste ½ cup of curd and water is required.
Add the salt, coriander powder, chopped green chillies, red chilli powder, turmeric powder, and baking soda in the paste and mix them properly. After adding these things add the vegetables in the paste. The vegetables are chopped tomatoes, finely chopped capsicum, finely chopped green coriander. Mix them properly in the paste.
Preheat the pan to fry the toast and add 2-3 tbsp oil in it. Take a slice of bread and spread the paste on one side of it properly. Place the slice of bread on the pan to fry. Keep the slice of bread on the bottom of the pan where the paste is spread. Spread the paste on the other side of bread also in the pan itself. Take another bread and repeat the same paste spreading and frying process on it too. Cover the pan and leave the toast to fry for 3 minutes on the low flame.
Check the bread after the 3 minutes. When the bread appears brown in colour, flip the bread by applying oil over it. Again cover them and cook them for more 3 minutes on the low flame. Check them again if toasts are not fried properly, cook them for 1 minute more. Later on, uncover them and again fry them for 1-1.5 minutes.
Toasts are evenly fried, take them out in a and place in a plate. Fry all the besan toasts in an exact way. To fry single round of toast it takes almost 8-9 minutes.
You can also cut and serve the besan toast. You can serve them along with the green coriander dip, tomato sauce or the dip which you prefer.
Suggestions
- Be aware of the fact that fry the toasts only on the low-medium flame and check them in the intervals.
- You can add the red chilli powder according to your taste.
