Spinach Cheela Recipe - Palak Chilla Recipe
Besan palak chilla is very tasty and nutritious. Besan Palak chilla can be eaten in the morning as breakfast or during the evening as snacks when we are a little hungry. Chilla tastes delicious when packed in the tiffin and children really like it.
Ingredients for Besan palak chilla
Gram flour (Besan) - 1 cup
Spinach (Palak) - 1 cup (Finely cut)
Oil - 2-3 tbsp
Green chilli (Hari mirch) - 1-2 tbsp (Finely chopped)
Ginger (Adrak) - 1 tsp paste or i inch grated
Carom seeds (Ajwain) - ⅛ tsp
Red chilli powder (Lal mirch powder) - ⅛ tsp
Salt (Namak) - ½ tsp
How to make Besan palak chilla
Filter the gram flour and put it in a bowl. Add some water to it and prepare a soft mixture. Make sure the mixture is a little soft as compared to the mixture of a pakora. Add green chilli, ginger paste, roasted carom seeds, red chilli powder and salt to it. Mix well. Add spinach and mix thoroughly. We have used ¾ cup water to prepare this mixture. Cover the batter and keep it aside for 10 minutes till it becomes fluffy.
Heat a pan and add oil to it. Spread the oil evenly all over the pan using a tissue. Now put 2-3 tbsp batter on the pan and spread it thin all over with the help of a spoon. Make sure that the pan is medium hot, otherwise it would be very difficult to spread the batter. Put a little oil on all sides of the dosa. Put a little oil on top of the chilla as well.
Now fry the chilla on medium flame till it is golden brown. Turn on the side of the chilla once it is golden brown. Put the chilla on a plate once it is golden brown from both sides. Prepare all the chilla similarly.
Very tasty chilla is now ready. Serve the besan palak chilla along with curd, pickle or chutney.
Suggestions :
You can even grind the spinach and make a paste and add it to the gram flour instead of cutting it into pieces.

madam ji, agar palak ko puree bna kr besan me daal kr cheela banaya jaye to kaisa rahega. mere khyaal se hara dhania, podina aur methi se bhi dono tarike se cheele banaye ja sakte hai? निशा: संदीप जी अवश्य पालक प्यूरी बनाकर बेसन में मिलाकर चीला अच्छा बनेगा, मेथी, और पोदीना कम मात्रा में डालना होगा, इनका स्वाद तीखा होता है, हरे धनिये से भी चीला बनाया जा सकता है.

This is a great recipe... I even tried fenugreek leaves instead of spinach... N it tastes delicious. And now my kid doesn't deny to eat these green leafy vegetables :-)
