Flax Seeds Pancake Recipe
Flax seeds(alsi) are full of Omega-3 fatty acid, Protein, Lignen, Vitamin B etc and are used to make Pinni, chutney, roti, parantha or cheela. Presenting you Alsi cheela which can also be packed in lunch box.

Ingredients for Alsi ka Cheela
- Wheat flour - 1 cup (150 grams)
- Alsi (flax seeds) - 1/4 cup (20 grams)
- Curd - 1/2 cup
- Green coriander - 2-3 tbsp (finely chopped)
- Oil - 2-3 tbsp
- Ginger paste - 1 tsp
- Green chilly - 1 (finely chopped)
- Black pepper - 1/4 tsp
- Salt - 1/2 tsp (as per taste)
How to make Alsi ka Cheela
Take flour and alsi seeds in a big bowl and mix curd (whisked) into it. Add little water at a time and mix until all lumps dissolve completely. Keep the consistency of batter similar to that used for making dosa.
Now add salt, black pepper powder, green chilly and green coriander. Mix all ingredients well. Cover and keep aside batter for 10-15 minutes.
Batter for making cheela is ready. Preheat tawa and pour some oil over it. With help of napkin paper or wet cloth, grease the tawa. Keep the flame medium. Pour 1-2 tbsp batter on the tawa and with help of spoon spread the batter in round cheela shape. Pour some oil all around the cheela and on the surface of cheela. Reduce the flame to medium.
Roast cheela until surface changes in color and gets golden brown in color from beneath. With help of spatula, flip the cheela and roast from this side as well. Take out cheela in a plate.
Reduce the flame for making second cheela. Sprinkle some water on the tawa to reduce the temperature and clean with a cloth. Likewise spread batter on the tawa and prepare cheela. Similarly, prepare all cheela.
Mouth drooling and luscious alsi cheela are ready. Serve with green coriander chutney, tomato sauce, coconut chutney or curd and relish eating.
Make sure you make cheela only when tawa is hot aptly. If not, then cheela can stick on the tawa. Roast cheela on the medium flame, else it'll turn black from beneath and will remain raw.
