Malai Poori is a recipe which is a dessert and a sweet too. It is made up of delicious ingredients and has a scrumptious impact on everyone's taste buds.
Ingredients for Malai Poori
- Sugar - 1.5 cups (350 grams)
- Gulab Jamun Ready-mix - 1 cup
- Pistachios (finely chopped) - 10 to 12
- Cardamom powder - ½ tsp
- Saffron strands - 15 to 20
- Ghee - for frying
How to make Malai Poori
Take 1.5 cups of sugar in a vessel and add 1.5 cups of water to it. Cook the syrup while continuously stirring it. Take a cup of Gulab Jamun ready-mix in a bowl, add a ¾ cup of water to it and dissolve its lumps. The batter should be of the pouring consistency.
Add 15 to 20 saffron strands, a ½ teaspoon of cardamom powder in the sugar syrup. Boil the sugar syrup for 3 to 4 minutes. After boiling it, remove it from the flame and keep it aside to cool down.
Preheat a flat pan and add some clarified butter in it. The clarified butter should be less heated than medium hot for frying the Poori. Add a serving spoon of batter in the hot oil and fry until it becomes brown from both sides. After frying it, drain it out using a ladle and keep it aside to cool down. Later on, fry all the Pooris likewise.
After the sugar syrup has become lukewarm, dip 4 to 5 Poori in it for 4 minutes. Drain them out after 4 minutes and place on a plate. Garnish it with some sugar syrup and finely chopped pistachios before serving. Malai Poori is ready to be served.
10 to 12 Poori can be made from the prepared quantity of the batter. You can even make the Pooris and store them in the refrigerator. Later on, dip them in the sugar syrup and serve.
