    If that makhan is melted on stove till froth is formed and later the froth clears, it is converted to Ghee. 

    Ghee remains stable at room temperature without fridge for many days.

    I never keep butter at home. I buy butter, convert it to ghee and store it at room temperature. The same makhan made into ghee is slightly more healthier.

      you can keep butter in water half soaked, this way it doesn't get tarty in taste.

      try it. i preserve butter this way.
